Carlos Ruiz

Carlos Ruiz is a Program Officer at IRENA, leading the agency's work on decarbonization of the shipping and aviation sectors. He has over 10 years of experience in renewable energy, having worked in both the private and public sectors on a diverse range of topics including long-term energy planning, project development and financing, and emission reduction strategies for energy end-use sectors. Carlos’s academic background is in mechanical and electrical engineering. He holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Energy Technologies from the Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden (KTH).
