Joe Bettles

Based in Copenhagen at the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, Joe leads the analysis of the economic impacts of policies on shipping companies and maritime fuel suppliers. This year, he led the 'Countdown to FuelEU Newsletter', delivering insights that build a business case for investment in green shipping. Joe is also the author of 'Transatlantic Testing Ground', a detailed examination of how EU and US policies can lower the costs of alternative fuels for ships on transatlantic routes. With a Master's in Public Policy from UC San Diego, Joe works to advance policies that drive innovation and accelerate the energy transition.
