Seb Hirsz is bp’s Head of Mobility Policy, developing its transport energy policy options around the world and advising on topics including low carbon fuels, EV charging infrastructure, and energy system integration. Seb previously headed-up energy transition policy on behalf of the UK downstream sector, working closely with the UK government on renewable fuels regulation, low carbon hydrogen business models, bioenergy strategy, and the deployment of E10 gasoline. He has detailed understanding of standards development, having been responsible for the industry's representation to standards organisations on fuels, EV charging, and retail site safety. A chemist by training, Seb has developed formulated products for ICE and electric motor systems from retail to Formula 1 with first-hand experience of delivering fuel products from concept to market and shaping regulations to improve fuel product sustainability.
